My wife came home wearing a new parka today, so I decided to try for a few fashion shots outside in the falling snow. :)

Nice lighting and colors. I hope the fur is fake.

I'm afraid I must disagree. Unless her skin really is purple.

Sorry, but on my calibrated monitor, the entire picture does have a pinkish/purplish cast. Yes I agree you can see the effect of cold on her skin, but I'm thinking that's a white parka? Looks sort of pink

+1 My calibrated iMac shows a purple cast over the entire image.

If that's snow in the background (lower right corner), then it sure doesn't look white enough (not that we're seeing enough snow here to judge :D). Perhaps you could use that bit of snow to set the correct white balance.

I agree. The WB is way off on this one. Easy enough fix, but your monitor must need calibration if it's not apparent when you're viewing.

I do like the composition. However, I think that if you fix the white balance you will get richer textures ( fur, scarf ) and those blue eyes will be given their due. In fact, those eyes will jump right out at the viewer . :-)

Looking for light in all the right places.

Here is with the WB adjusted. Good photo but there was to much purple/pink in it.

My sister, the professional baker and cake decorator once told me that my camera takes great pics. My reply was that I thought her oven baked great cakes.

I just corrected the white balance with this result. Similar to Thorrulz's correction above. I was experimenting with split toning, to ill effect. Still learning, so thanks again for the advice and input!

Here's another from the shoot, with the white balance corrected. Do these look okay now?
