agree.

my solution to teach myself composition was - I got a prime lens (at that time, on a crop body I got a 28mm to end up with a 'more or less' 50), and started walking around the scene instead of zooming in and out, and composing in camera, with no post cropping. was very hard at the beginning, and didn't work all the time, but slowly I learned, and after, hm, probably a year, no more post cropping for me. the moment your composition is final while taking the image is a great feeling of controlling the medium. I honestly believe this is an essential step many people ignore.
