I can live with the 50L, but this is what I lust for. It could be next best to 200F2.

That is why I haven't picked 200mm f2 IS. I know 200mm f2 is nice but it is getting old and for that kind of money I want 200mm f2 IS II.

Will they announce a 24 or a 135? I am really hoping for that 135!

Wow, both lenses I own get updated. And I just got the 50 a few months ago. Would still have bought the old 50 but now I wish I had waited as I would have paid 50 bucks less.

I'd sell the Sigma 50 now before the price continues to dive.

I sold mine today as soon as I read about the announcement ;)

I'm sure it'll be an azmazing lens, but I don't think I'd ever buy a 50mm that large. The main reason I didn't buy the original Sigma 50/1.4 was it's massive size, this thing's even bigger. I hope the EF 50mm IS is a similar size to the current 1.4.

I actually really liked the size of Sigmalux. Had both nifties I and II and they felt really awkward on the 5D series body..

For crying out loud where is IS on this lens? :(

If it had IS I would seriously ditch my 50L - but now I will keep the 50L no matter how good the IQ is on this Siggy. (Given the 50L is sharp itself)

The 200L was only released 5 years ago -?

not going to sell. I found a great copy and it fits my needs well. Also I'm a broke college student so any gear I get has to be at a discounted price.

I think if they keep up the quality high (which I believe in) I can see a lot of POTN users got a nice Sigma prime kit over a couple of years instead of a L collection. 24 | 35 | 50 | 85 | 135

if it focuses well ill be over the moon.

To answer the people asking why its not F1.2..

I think its because Nikon cannot take f.1.2 lenses.

Just a thought

I have the Sigma 35, and it really blows the 35L out of the water.

Lets hope this one blows the 50L out of the water. It shouldn't be too hard. I never liked that lens.

Same, I ordered the 24-205 Art last week, but when I was told it was on back order I have been tempted to cancel and get the 85L. But didn't, I am so hoping for an 85Art sooner than later, I know if I bought the 85L the Art would be announced soon after and I would be kicking myself.

50mm isn't a focal length I really need, pending reviews and price, I will most likely grab this less anyway.

I just picked up a sig 85... my worry is the current model pricing will drop significantly.
