Nice! If this is anything like the Sigma 35, there's a good chance it'll end up in my bag!

I guess it was time for their 50 to get the "Art" treatment. I already own three different 50s so I'm not really interested. Plus this one looks like it's going to be big with a 77mm filter thread and weighing a pound. It's even bigger and heavier than the new Nikon 58/1.4 but I'm sure plenty cheaper.

The current one has a 77mm too.

I've been waiting for this. My Sigma 50mm was very soft wide open. I'm anticipating a price tag of $700 or so.

I think this lens is going to be great if its close to the 35mm ART lens they have.

Unless there is any massive improvement over my tack sharp 50 EX DG, I won't be upgrading anytime soon...

I think it's safe to say that this lens is going to be awesome.

I sold my 35L for the Sigma 35.. The Sigma 35 is the "35L II".

If the Sigma 35 is an indication of what to expect in terms of price/performance, it should be somewhere around $799. Expensive, but probably worth it optically.

13 elements including extremely expensive SLD glass, and some asphericals. Plus floating group, for minimal 0.4 m. focusing, and reducing distortions. Sigma promised to fight coma to extreme corners, and we must pay for everything, including improved AF.
This one could be pricey.
