How do I share my Flickr Photos (picture title link, "by: your name link, and the word Flickr at the end under neath the photos) on a forum?

I cannot find the new way of sharing pictures since the new Flickr layout. I click share, but cannot find the HTML <a href><img> code anymore...

None of my photos are private, everyone can see every single of of my photos. Am I in the right place?

flicr has changed the 'share' interface... again!

I will update detailed instruction soon in the link below:
https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=11611260#post11611260

For now, I can tell you that it seems that flickr has changed the status of my pictures from public to private.

You may want to re-check for an open lock symbol in the picture you are trying to embed.
If locked, un-lock it, select another picture and return to the one you are working on. The status does not change 'on the fly' :(

POTN does not admit HTML tags like <a href> or <img> you need to use BBCode tags with square brackets instead.

Once your picture is public, select the pin (at right on your capture, below the red square), copy the BBCode and paste it in your post as plain text.
Good luck

Click on it for many ways to share

I noticed this a couple of weeks ago and started a thread here. I'm not thrilled with the change...

So I dont have any code clicking on the thumbtack or anything either. So from the looks of it, some people can do it and I am one of the people that are stuck not being able to use the feature?

Well they sure screwed this redesign up!

Check your photo again: When the lock icon that I circled in red is public, you get the code, otherwise you get the message "Please share this photo public to view embed code".

I checked that the padlock icon was unlocked - it didn't work for me.

I had to change the icon state, move to another photo and return to the first one before flickr reacts to the change. Perhaps a bug?...

QUOTED IMAGE

I do not have a single private photo, they are all public and have been since Day 1.

As long as Flickr does not give you an embed code (even if you do not prevent it in gallery settings), you can pick the image URL for embedding it here with few steps in a browser, in this case Chrome. This is definitely a hack, but better than nothing until Flickr fixes their bugs.

So in Chrome:

Go to ALL SIZES page, like http://www.flickr.com …otog/11789450545/sizes/l/ (external link)

Pick 1024 size if not already chosen, RIGHT click the image, and click "Inspect Element" on the menu.

On the new window that appears (below), a line is highlighted. Click the link on the next row (the img link).

Now you see the image on a smaller window, right click that image and choose "copy image URL".

Now you can place the URL between IMG tags on your post, and the image is embedded.

As said, above is a hack, and although I know it does not help right now, the upcoming new POTN software can automate all above for you :)

I unlocked locked then unlocked the padlock again after moving to another image and back to it. Still cannot grab the [IMG] code. Why must Flickr hate me...

I can reproduce the problem only when my picture is locked.
You can follow Pekka's instructions until flickr get it sorted.

In flickr FAQ about "Where is the HTML code and photo file link?" I found this that may apply to you:

There are a few cases where the code may not be available: 1) If the photo is restricted. 2) If that person has turned off "Share this" or access to original files.

Just opt out of the "new" flickr experience. Problem solved. ;)

"Who can access your original image files?" (within the Settings menu) I set it to Everyone, Only Flickr Members and Family/Friends and still nothing. The photo is public.

I know how to get the URL to the photo and embed it into a forum, but I really want that bottom line below the image that links you to my Photo stream so that people look at more of my images.

How do I opt out of the new Flickr? I'd love to have the old Flickr back.
