Well, for one, you'd be getting probably THE fastest AF'ing lens in the 17-55. :lol: It's blistering fast for AF acquisition.

If you don't mind slight barrel/pincushion distortions (which can be fixed for the most part with a simple click of a button in LR, then I think the 17-55 makes more sense than both the 35 and the 24/2.8. Yes, the 2.0 is 1 stop faster with IS to boot. But it doesn't shoot 17-34, 36-55. Big trade off.

And if I'm not mistaken, Canon really shaved off on the retail price this past year so it's a safe investment, IMO.

I just sold mine to get an L glass, and probably going full frame soon, but it is an amazing lens. As mentioned, autofocus is super quick and super quiet. Color, contrast, and sharpness of this lens are all superior to any other non L zoom lens. It's hard to compare this with a prime lens, however, as prime lenses are naturally sharper than zooms.

Sad to say, I must part with this lens. :( It will not work on my 6D. It will be missed, but I have a goal of getting a 50L, and it can help fund that. :)
