Probably the lowest price point of the year for many of the lenses. Can't hurt to get one more for backup. Harrisburg Wedding Photographer

I believe the $300 rebate is mail in after purchase. So like BH has lens at $1999 when added to cart. It's the whole MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) thing. I wonder how many people forget to mail in the rebate. It does require some effort. Harrisburg Wedding Photographer

Stacy loves it and uses it with a 70-200 for about 95% of what she does. I however love my 35 85 combo more. Trent Gillespie

But I would actually use if it had stabilization. It'd be glued on to my camera for video. Wouldn't replace my video monopod, but I would absolutely rather have something like the Tamron 24-70 VC rather than the Canon. I can let the slightly lower IQ and slightly slower AF slide.

I have the first generation and it suits me just fine, I don't have the soft focus problems many have stated they had. I only take mine off if I'm shooting in very dim light so I can use my 50mm 1.8.

It wasn't the soft focus, but corner sharpness wasn't on par. If my composition had a subject in any of the corners, it took too much time in post to sharpen things up. Trent Gillespie
