I GOT MY LENS :D

This is one of my first test shots which makes me love this lens so much. I focused on his left eye and shot it at:

ISO 3200
1/50th
f2.8

This lens is insane with how much detail it shows, I took a few photos of those cheap toys you get from Mcdonalds which showed insane detail on the plastic. The shot above of my cat was actually done using MF which makes me even more happy with this lens since i'm usually hopeless with doing MF through the VF. I can hear the IS quite a bit but that doesn't bother me too much. Either way I can't wait to test this lens ever more!

Wow!! Nice shot! I know this is a great lens. The motor while focusing is a little loud but I don't think it's a big deal either. Yay- keep on shooting!! lol

Thanks :D that is probably the IS not the AF. When the distance scale is set right I find the AF to be very fast and quiet, but the IS is quite noisy.

Great shots! Lucky your cat isn't camera shy, mine tends to look away as soon as he sees the camera!

It's the hybrid IS you're hearing, little noisy, but the output of the lens defeats any noise the lens could possibly make :D

This is my only lens with IS so had nothing to really compare it to haha.

Yeah it's definitely worth it for the IQ, I still can't believe how sharp it is. I did quite heavy NR on one shot which you know reduces sharpness yet after getting rid of all the noise, the image was still as sharp as my 50mm 1.4!

I took these yesterday trying the lens in different types of shooting conditions

Nice shots Daniel :)

Even though i've had this lens sometime now it still blows me away at how sharp it is in almost any given circumstance, not too mention its versatility. I honestly feel it's one of the "must own" Canon lenses. :D

Thanks JD :D

Yeah from what I read people do underestimate how great and versatile this lens is! I'm still playing around with it and I feel like I haven't even scratched the surface when it comes to the potential of this lens. I'm not used to shooting with the longer focal lengths so I can't wait to play around with it more.
