I just got rid of my 7D today. Looks like just in time if there's to be an announcement in Feb. Could it be?

Since we're all guessing, my guess is that Canon will announce the 7D II in June.... start shipping it in late August. If it turns out to be a stellar camera, I'll order mine in late October/early November, after the first couple production runs sell out.

My guess, I'll go with the seven theme - 7/7 at 7am. This has to be a lucky date/time :)

I just keep praying that they will continue the APS-H line with a 7D Mark II...think about it..that is really all that is missing nowadays with the 70D and 1DX/5D3..
A ~18-24Mp APS-H with dual DIGIC V+(or VI's), 10FPS, 1DIV AF system, dual card slots, swivel screen (come on, you know you love them! ;) ), and while we are at it, an Espresso machine for when at half time or whatever..

Ahh to dream. love it.

Back OT...I am going to second the nomination for the 10am Thursday release schedule!

Was hoping for Canon to release this so called camera at CES 2014.
I don't think it's going to come to fruition.

Sold my first DSLR & lens = 6D (24-105L) & (40)
Now what prime should i get with the 7d mark ii?...

Saw this earlier on this website when I was searching lens compatibility.

^^This website shows the 7dmkII. You click on 7dmkII lenses and it brings you to another page and at the top is a link to this website. http://snapsort.com/cameras/Canon-EOS-7D-MII (external link)

I wonder if I should get excited about that one. Oh alright I'll give in lol Disregard my previous ramble about there not being one.

I watch this with interest.

SPecs are on that page too

24MP
ISO 25,500
10fps
3.2" display
100% viewfinder
61 AF points
CF cards?

Unsure how to treat this, but FFS that looks like it's going to be a beast of a camera if it's true.

Yeah, I just thought it was interesting to see something like that before the camera is even announced although that site says it was announced on March 2013.

I wonder with it looking like it's sharing the 5D MKIII AF and much the same as the 5DMKIII in other sensor respects, that they've just made a crop version of it. I guess with everyone saying that the 5DMKII is great for wildlife if it had more FPS and a more reach, whether Canon this time has actually listened for once.

Again could be a pure spoof, but snapsort don't strike me as the place for that sort of thing. A lot of work goes into their stuff.

Given the number of shooting profiles that can benefit from a crop sensor, especially birding and macro photography, having an update for the 7D is a very logical market move.

The 70D is close, but not actually there for sports.

One of the biggest things probably holding back release of a 7DmkII is that the 7D is already such a great camera. To release one onto the market means they need some hefty improvements to make the upgrade worth it in the eyes of customers, and Canon only has so much R&D capacity.

It would not surprise me if the project has been delayed internally waiting for either a good jump in their sensor quality, a good dive in their sensor production costs, or a nice mix of the two.

I agree, it makes total sense, to have the 7D mk II come out now. The 7D is a great camera, but it's time for the mk II, and really looking forward to seeing how the new specs work with sports and wildlife photography.
