Dutch, I love the sign in the middle of all that ice. David, that shot is definitely a wall hanger. We have some places with running water, with the melt off the last couple of days, but no lighted falls like you have access to. That is utterly stunning.

Amazing shot David. Your picture makes me want to take that 1.5 hour trip to the falls and do some night shooting. Did you have anything covering your camera and lens to protect it from the mist?

Seems strange to me seeing the falls flowing from left to right. I'm Canadian, and when I view the falls, the water is always going from right to left.

Thanks very much. One of the reasons this worked out a little is because it was a dead-calm evening. What mist was around was moving away from me, so it wasn't an issue. The falls all but froze to a stop during the storms last week, and I wanted some images of the ice; the observation platform was chained off, and bridge traffic to Canada prohibited driving over. It was cold enough that walking across was not going to be an option. Some days, though, the mist is a very difficult thing to work around. Usually an Op-Tech rain cover, or similar, will work.

Here's a little ice I did get, and there are a few on Flickr:

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

^^ Nice shots Jenn! I especially like the second one. The contrast between black and white is nice.
