Disable your mobile data connection and try again. The app itself works fine, but could use some improvement. Ill try that, thanks. No I was not, WiFi signal was strong as well. At the photo shop it did the same thing with strong signal with their displayed 70d. Canon 70D/70-200 f4/17-55 2.8/BG-E9/430EZ I like DSLR's. In fact they are both programmed and ready to be activated from the quick menu. Did you try to first disable your home wifi connection so it didn't automatically connect as a "saved" or "favorite" access point? If your home wifi connection was set to automatically connect, it would have connected in the middle of your attempt to pair with the camera. What I would have recommended is telling your phone to "forget" your home wifi access point, then turn off your phones wifi altogether. With the phones wifi off, start the process on the camera to the point it is ready to connect to the Android device with all the default settings(you can modify them later if needed). Then re-enable the phones wifi. From the phone select the 70D on your list of wifi access points. Enter the passcode from the cameras display. And you should be able to connect.

I just want to make sure that you understand, if you have any wifi access points set to automatically connect when in range, the phone WILL DEFAULT TO THOSE FIRST before allowing the connection to the 70D to complete. You may not even know you have it set to automatically connect, but if you don't have to enter a passcode each time you're in range of a given wifi access point then it is automatic and has been saved. Make sure you disable any saved access points that may be in range, then follow the directions in the manual.

I did try what you mentioned. even the canon tech guy had me do that and had me check if I had the 4.3 android software then forget all current WiFi. I re did everything per manual and according to canon videos how tos. Cleared all wifis on my phone and turned it off. Set up nick name, selected access point mode, easy connection, got to ssid encryption key. I then went on my phone settings, turned wifi on, selected 70d signal, entered the ssid key and connection established... I waited for a few minutes and its connected just fine. I then go open eos remote app and sometimes before or little after I go pairing to 70d it drops the connection. If I wait a minute or two it re-connects again and it does it again. It cant be my phone as I've tried 3-4 phones (both apple & android) at 4 locations now. Even the tech guy had me take my phone case off and any straps on camera as a last resort in case of any interference. Hmm, well it's a very nifty feature if you ever do get it working. Please make sure to report back when you get it back.

I connect my 70d with my galaxy S even on the roads, no problems encountered. My advice is, stay calm and figure it out patiently.
