Gymnastics photos

Hi, I am new to the forum and I am looking for some feedback on some sports photos that I have taken. I have been shooting my High school daughters gymnastics for about 5 years and her younger sisters travel soccer for about the same. I have also shot football, volleyball, wrestling, cheer.

I have a Portfolio website that I am working on and am unsure if the photos are good enough or not? That is were I need some feedback. The site is:

Here's an odd question... Why is the title of this post Gymnastics photos when there isn't one gymnastics photo in your portfolio link you posted?

Because I was having trouble uploading to the site. Here is another attempt.

The main problem is they are significantly underexposed.

So if that is the main problem, what are the rest? I only had a 1D Mark ii and didn't want to turn the ISO up so high as to get a ton of noise. Any suggestions for shooting different or in post. I shoot pretty much in Raw all the time.

As stated they are underexposed and also the white balance is off. The first one is not too bad, wish it had a shallower depth of field. Same for the second one (shallower depth of field) and she has anther person's body coming out of her head.

JPEG compression aside, the focus doesn't look quite spot-on.

The other problems for me are A) bad light which you cant do anything about. Overhead lighting in gyms are often the worst, and B) white balance. Since the light is directional from above, try to shoot where her face is pointed more toward the ceiling if possible. Otherwise her face will be in shadows and all your other efforts are diminished.

A couple of issues here. One of the biggest failings with canon camera is the AWB performance indoors. Its pretty awful. But more importantly its very likely that the gym you shoot in uses some form of vapor light. Those are very difficult to to get a decent white balance, in part because they are color deficient (often in red). What that means is the light isnt full spectrum and you cant balance a color that isnt there. A gray card will get you somewhat close but you might want to consider shooting in raw so you can tweak it later.
