It looks like they are coming. Whether Canon intends to put it on a pro or consumer body, or create a completely different series for it, we will see.

This is an obvious progression for Canon. I've complained about DSLR ergonomics for video. This fixes that problem, when using the viewfinder.

What I'm really wondering is whether you will be able to take stills with the EVF. Although it may slightly degrade the image quality, it may actually make use of the dual pixels for photography. It would be great for some extreme low light photography. I was photographing a bear in pitch black last year, it would've been great if I could see the target in the EVF.

I see this as evidence that Canon's pipeline still has improving video as their priority. It was likely in the pipeline for a while, and now, they are too far in to reverse course. The question is, when does IQ get prioritized in their pipeline. Either way, Canon has lots of work to do and if they aren't panicking, maybe they should be.

Is it just me, or do we have more hardcore Canon fans going to other manufacturers then ever before.

I may just head to m4/3 at this rate. At least focus is bang on, and in body IS means I can actually use the camera without a tripod at night....
