Took the old fisheye for a spin around time. I had a lot of fun!

Never thought of putting this on my FF. Looks like a cool effect even with the Crop lens limitations.

I have the Opteka branded lens. I love the way it handles flare and direct light.

QUESTION-
For those of you that have re-calibrated the focus distance scale- Did your minimum focus distance get shorter?

I have a new Optek 6.5mm and the infinity focus point seams to be when the focus distance scale is on about 2ft. When I set the lens to minimum focus the focus point seams to be about 2ft away (vs the advertized 1ft). Considering this is a fisheye, that 1 foot difference can make a big change in perspective (that dog's nose will be even bigger;)

To me, the only reason to calibrate the focus distance scale would be to gain better minimum focus distance.

Does that make sense?

Same version. Mine did get shorter but I did it to align focus at 10ft away. 10ft focus was originally sharp when focused at 1ft.

Yes and yes.

A hard stop at infinity is another reason to do the adjusting.
