Hard to pass at $1400 free ship no taxes....

Yeah, the fact that Amazon now collects sales tax in VA hurts (and did when I got the 16-35) gives something of sticker shock when the final bill tallies up.

One of the ways to stop equipment envy/acquisition is to cancel you online access, throw your computer away and move to a deserted island, don't bring your gear, just food.

If that doesn't work....buy more gear it is too much fun. ;) :)

Or, go out and use your equipment and determine the equipment is not what is producing the mediocre images...its the person pressing the shutter.

Too much gear aquisition and not enough perfecting the skills of photography.

Addicted? Absolutely. One exception in the Sigma and a 40mm pancake. Yep, I have gone over the edge.

As is my usual experience with any new camera gear, I am getting annoyed with UPS. The 6D is due to be delivered tomorrow, signature of course required, I'm leaving on a trip on which I'd like to use the 6D Saturday morning, and it's currently sitting 150 miles away at a UPS depot with no guarantee of even attempted delivery tomorrow. And in a classic bait & switch, UPS said for $40 I could sign up for UPS MyChoice Premium for a year and schedule delivery within a 2 hour window of my choice--so I give them the $40 figuring I have enough UPS issues it will be worth it, and then bam!, the option to schedule delivery is magically not available any longer for this particular package. Sigh.

My 16-35 came during the literal 10 minutes during which no one was home to sign for it--I think the UPS guy must have sat at the top of the hill with binoculars and waited until neither of us was home to attempt delivery and leave, on a Friday afternoon, the dreaded "Sorry you weren't home!" slip.

I feel your pain. What bad / tragic luck you've had

I love the 6D; it just makes the 16-35 shine, and the noise performance at higher ISOs is fantastic--no need for a flash except for fill light. Unfortunately, now I am really eyeing the 24-70 2.8 (don't think I can afford the rumored IS 2.8 next year, though--the regular is pricey enough). So yes, an expensive addiction which feeds itself indeed!

when i had my 7d i ran the 17-55 f2.8 and really liked them together. then i added the 70-200 f2.8L IS (mkI)...

when i got rid of the 7d i gave my wife the lens and got the mkII 24-70 f2.8L...

i have a 50 f1.4 but i would love to have the 1.2L...

i feel your pain on UPS. my 5d3 and my two L lenses were UPS and i had to go pick them up because they attempted delivery the same as you. the blink of an eye when someone wasnt home...

I know the feeing, while I love my 40mm pancake in it's own right, my 50 1.4 is getting no love.
Every weekend it is out shined my by 24L and 100L :( Soon it will get replaced with the 50L
Nothing 'wrong" with the lens, it focuses fine. Just not up to spec, I want to try 1.2 (half stop or not)
