My best shot would have to be this one :)

I set out to capture exactly this, the Milky Way looming over sleeping Gannets. However when I arrived on site, there were clouds everywhere, so was a bit disappointed. But after the longish drive to get there, I wasn't going to just head home, so waited to see what happens. After an hour or so the clouds started to dissipate, I was already setup so just snapped away :)
It's shots like these that make me excited to drive home and process, you know when you have a good shot. :)
Milky Way is what got me into photography 20 months ago, and now I have captured many shots of the Milky Way, it never gets tiring.

Perhaps this one. I had made an early morning trip to my spot along the Skagit River to get some shots of the Bald Eagles migrating. This coincides with salmon spawning, so they stop over there for breakfast. I had just about given up, as I was not seeing any to speak of. Plus it was raining.

Then suddenly this guy came swooping over my head, and I snapped off a series of shots. This one was towards the end, as he getting out of sight.

As I was processing them later, this one really spoke to me. The eagle soring over the low clouds and mist amongst the evergreen trees.

It's probably just me but I liked it.

I pick this one. I'd say that the different expressions of these people tell a whole lot to the image.

Two (emotionally) really, because they were taken in my home town that I hadn't seen in 18yrs, were on a beach that I played on daily 50yrs ago, and during a trip that involved the first xmas with 2 of my sons in 25yrs.

This has to be one of my favorite photo from 2013. I took while visiting the Angkor complex in Cambodia. It was my first trip with my 6D and fell in love with it.

Thanks for the words. Lots of great shots here - very nice!

Coincidentally the shot I posted was one of the last ones I took. Haven't had a camera since August lol.

This is the highest rating I've gotten on a photo at 500px.
