My best shot would have to be this one
Muriwai Panorama (EXPLORED) by Mikey Mack, on Flickr
I set out to capture exactly this, the Milky Way looming over sleeping Gannets. However when I arrived on site, there were clouds everywhere, so was a bit disappointed. But after the longish drive to get there, I wasn't going to just head home, so waited to see what happens. After an hour or so the clouds started to dissipate, I was already setup so just snapped away
It's shots like these that make me excited to drive home and process, you know when you have a good shot.
Milky Way is what got me into photography 20 months ago, and now I have captured many shots of the Milky Way, it never gets tiring.
