I made a discovery the other day, shooting in raw and large jpg, set the 6D on monochrome and shot a few scenes, forgot to revert to faithful for quite some time. However, the raw scenes shot in monochrome get their colour back in DPP by choosing faithful ( or one of the others I guess) but the jpgs stay in monochrome!

Yep. RAW is RAW. Another good reason to always shoot RAW or RAW + JPG.

DPP just applied settings to your RAW file from the camera just as if you had applied the settings in DPP. Any changes made to a RAW can always be reversed. (The RAW is actually never altered. There are just a set of instructions attached to it that record what was changed.)

No, I never claimed to be outstanding in the field of photography. I said I was out standing in the field taking photos.

Cool time lapse video! Summer in NZ is looking a lot better than winter in northern US.

I'm losing my mind a bit. I'm ready to purchase and the deals have dried up. Hopefully it will turn around soon.

Anyone have a word up? Canon price watch is showing the kit at $2400.

you can buy second hand. Typically go for 13-1400 on the forum, and 24-105 can be found ~650-700 new.

Excellent time lapse with plenty of activity going on. How long was the lapse between each shot and what period of time did you cover?

Think you missed the best deals for a while. Got mine a few weeks before Christmas for $1800

Just upgraded to a 6D last week - my first full frame camera. Very pleased so far, although I do see what all the complaints are about with the autofocus.

Here are a few of my first shots:

About 2,500 according to his YouTube comment. That's a lot of shots!

Some moments are too amazing to be ruined with words.
