Saint Cirq Lapopie is a village which has entirely kept his medieval character.
This village is built at the top of a cliff dominating the river Lot valley.
No new house is allowed inside the village, all the electric wires and telephone wires have been put underground. The inhabitants have right to enter in the village with their cars but must park them hidden in a garage.(some of them don't do... )

We arrived just a few time after sunrise

Nice idea for a town. Nice shots. Pedestrians are still sleeping?

Thanks to you Tmcman !

There were almost nobody in the strrets because it was early in the morning.
We have been there two days before in the afternoon and we didn't like too much because there were many tourists, so decision to come again but the earliest we can.

Thanks Maureen !

I'm please you liked.
It's also what I prefer, the little villages. Of course I appreciate very much to visit the great places, Paris, Versailles, Chambord and all this kind, but I must say that to visit a little village, to walk along the Streets, to have a rest drinking a coffee in terrace to look at the life of a village is really a pleasure.

Thanks to you Joseline !

If someday you have opportunity to have a travel in France, don't hesitate to ask me where are the nicest places according to the part of France you will be. I'll try my best to give you interesting informations.
The touristic guides indicate the main touristic places but often forget this kind of village.
Saint Cirq Lapopie is in all the guides because it's very known, but there are many others villages as beautiful than this one and nobody tells anything about them.

Countryside on your photos is very picturesque. It looks as if time stopped there long, long time ago. There are no items which could betray that photos were taken recently. I like it a lot!

Dopey, if you don't have a flickr maybe you have some other place on the web where we could admire your works?
