I liked the photo Stro! The branches from either side of the lamp seem like arms reaching for the snow! :)

LoL is right. I'm probably twice your age Str0 and I was out walking my Black Lab on a trail earlier and it was a mere -25C (-13F). I guess everything is just a case of how we perceive things to be :P
My iPhone lasts about 5 mins in my coat pocket before it quits and goes into emergency only status for another 5 mins before it dies altogether .... :/

CJ if you love landscape, you gotta drive to san francisco through the coastal road, US 1 if you haven't done it yet. We're visiting Hearst Castle in San Simeon today then to some elephant seal and Solvang, Ca. Can't wait to go home and upload pics. i brought my laptop with me but forgot the cable(darn). hope i switch to SD card. i don't have a CF card reader.

I grew up in Montana and Wyoming. Over 100 degrees in the summer and I have personally seen -52 without a wind chill factor. We'd go sledding etc when it was below zero.

I'm now officially a wimp. It's been "cool" here in Florida lately, i.e., freezing at night and only in the 40s during the day. I found a new place near here to take photographs of wading birds, etc.... but I'm waiting until it warms up into the mid 60s. ;)

Thanks Rick. Even in the open, he was hard to spot.

Currently planning a trip up north and through Oregon and Washington. So going to hit spots in between then.

Oh well 50% older Lol. I'm only 66. I thought you were around the mid 30's mark from memory. My point being only about perspective and perception. :)

I'm using Kelvin all the time on my white balance settings in camera. So it's either i make the image cooler or warmer depending on the scene or the effect i'm trying to achieve.

Question: Will making your shots more on the warmer side introduce more noise than cooler? Is it better to just keep it in the middle or cooler and just warm it up in post when necessary? thank you.
