i have the 1.4 and 1.8. I honestly say 1.8 is better. because the outcomes are ideal and its way cheaper. My analogy for this lens is, 1.8 is a drop dead gorgeous girl with low self esteem. She sells herself short and doesn't know her true worth.

Is 50mm f/1.4 far better than this lens? I wonder whether I should pay more than 250 USD to upgrade from 50mm f/1.8 II to a 50mm f/1.4 or not

Loving this little and capable lens! It was absolutely freezing on that rooftop. Right before sunrise and windy.
