Surprise appearance in an area where I have never seen one before. Almost missed it as there are usually ducks around there and I assumed it was more of the same until I took a closer look.

That is some CRAZY coloring on that guy...is it an odd morph or a hybird of some sort?

Very nice shots

Eric it is in transition, I am not sure if it is from eclipse to breeding or juvenile to breeding adult.
