Hello all,

I was hoping you could give some advice on a session(s) I have coming up. I have gotten the rights to shoot a volleyball club's team and individual shots. They have about 100 kids. I have no problem with photographing them but need some advice on the logistics of the whole thing.

I was thinking of running 2 session stations - individual and team and having a second photographer. Gym time is precious and I don't want to waste theirs so I'm looking for advice to streamline it as much as possible.

Any help is appreciated.

Steve

Start by distributing your order forms and envelopes one week before picture day. When each kid arrives on picture day, take their shot and write the file number on their envelope. This way you do not need to waste time opening them until you get home. Some may pay by cash. I usually have a parent assist me. They organize the kids, and writhe the file number for me. It saves a lot of time. As a "Thank you" for helping me and saving time, when I deliver the packages, I return that parents check with their order. You can easily afford to do this and will not have to hire another photographer. My largest team was a swim team with 109 kids, 90 orders

Thanks Mike. Did you do the entire team all in one session? And did you do team shots as well?

Yes, it was a long session and this year, we're splitting it into two mornings.
