Actually, they seem to be generally cooperative. The trick is finding the right deserted sideroad they're hanging out on.

Thanks a lot, Sandy. He was fairly active, made for some challenges but interesting to see.

Thanks Craig. These were taken on 3 different fence posts, plus 2 large bushes, and flying above a swampy area that had lots of other birds...a neat spot I heard about from a local person.

Nifty birds and great shots, Ian. Al

They sure Al, thanks. And now I know where I can find him, like many other birds, he has a home territory. He was there for a while then flew off. So I went elsewhere for 15 minutes, came back and there he was back on "his" fencepost.

Fascinating birds Ian!
I'm sure glad you found some more or less willing subjects so you could bring us this variety. Love the fencepost perch in #'s 4 & 7. I think the more muted background helps accentuate the main subject details.
Whether you've noticed it or not, I'm pretty sure the Caracara in #1 is waving at you :)

Thanks very much, Steve. Iiked the lot on those posts too, for the reason you stated. When I looked through my viewfinder I said "Wow" to myself ;) And that wave - LOL - what a nice greeting to Florida :)

Thanks very much Steve. If you get to the Fort Myers area, let me know and I can tell you which are his 3 favorite fenceposts on that road ;)

What a great series Ian. It's tough to pick a favourite but I will choose 5 and 7.
