How to erase this

That's not a terrible edit, actually. You can try to copy, paste, transform and blend some floorboards where there is no detail until it looks right to your eye. I might consider moving the farmost left potted palm in the original photo and fill in where the waiter was. I'd also take one of the right side palm trees to give more detail to the existing palm tree in your crop. You could even horizontally flip the palm tree next to the proud father to help frame the cropped photo.

LOL, reminds me of photoshoptroll.com, where the guy offered up free Photoshop work, and then would confuse the client's demands on purpose. Very funny stuff.

This is what I've come up with, maybe after reading up vanishing point will help.

I'm relieved that I wasn't taken too seriously, I kept thinking it was kind of a dick move.

Vanishing point will help you to clone the wooden deck pattern while keeping the perspective correct. So after you set up the plane correctly and accurately you just clone to the background from a foreground (higher resolution, so it doesn't lose quality- but it may cause aliasing) source. It can even heal the cloned parts so brightness of the source doesn't matter.
The far background is just straight lines, simple. The railing you can flip over from left half to the missing right half.
So just redrawing the table will be the biggest challenge. It seems to be square so you may be able to kind of interpolate from that where the missing edge should be, and it's mostly devoid of texture so it should be easier. There's more stuff behind the waiter but why not disregard it and just fill it with more decking and sea?

Should be way simpler than my silly cloning of almost half the photo...

You could extract bride/groom & place in another photo. That may be less work.

Super quick edit. I'd blur out the background so you don't have to spend so much time cloning the floor.
Add vignette to focus on the bride/father.

That's what I would do, just merge the area where the guy is standing from another photo of the same area. Even if you have to go to the site and shoot it without the table with the tablecloth in it it may be simpler than trying to clone it.

To me, if you can do something the simple way, why try to do it the technical way.

If you had some other shots to use as a donor for the background it would be easier
