Brown-throated Sunbird (Anthreptes malacensis) (external link) by alabang (external link), on Flickr

The Grey-throated Sunbird (Anthreptes griseigularis) is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family. It is found in a wide range of semi-open wooded habitats in the northern and eastern part of the Philippines. It is often considered a subspecies of the Brown-throated Sunbird, but the two differ consistently in measurements and plumage, and there is no evidence of intergradation between them.[1] It has not been rated by BirdLife International (and consequently IUCN), but is generally common and therefore unlikely to be threatened.

Hey guys. Just in case this link has gone unnoticed. It was posted by another member regarding baiting birds.

Anyways I thought it was quest useful tip. I may try it on free standing stumps just to coach the bird to stay in my property.

I'm good but we're having crazy weather at the moment. But I know what you meant about nothing to shoot. I went thru that phase when you think nothing is worth the shot anymore. Now that I'm here, I wish I'd shoot more because out here the weather is keeping me indoors.

Nice to hear from you again sir Jun. that is one great idea with the woodpeckers. I always see downy woodpeckers in our backyard and they love the suet cakes I will do the same thing in our backyard so I don't get the suet and the feeder in the picture next time.

Super Bowl frenzy here in Seattle so excited for the game this Sunday.

Jo I think that was another baiting discussion. If I remember correctly it's about a roadside incidence involving a member and an owl. But that's a dead discussion, no sense resurrecting it.;)

When I saw the video I thought about you and your yard. I'm thinking on how to encourage birds in my property. This vid gave me an idea to drill holes on my free standing dead trees and inject suet in it. Now I just have to Google how to make suet :D
