Howdy folks

I've got a vote for Fixation - they've always been speedy and reliable when I've used them :)

Is it quite sad im so excited so see so many old names popping up again?

Fixation did some work on my 1D mkII, very good repair costs.

Do people generally use the Canon repair shop at Elstree? I remember taking my old 50mm there once, but it seems like Fixation (external link) has a pretty quick turn around.

I always use Elstreee personally. Nothing but praise for them.

Just saying. I mean it has been a while so didn't know who was still around :P Yeah the new camera is good but need to really give it a serious workout over the next few weeks. Just waiting on Sony to send me the Canon adaptor so I can mess around some more. The A mount adaptor is great since it has its own focusing system built inso a nice bonus there.

Trying to hold fire on renting any lenses at the moment purely for the sake of a Canon 300 2.8 on this thing would be a little overkill. I have a EF 28-135 and 50 1.8 to try out so that will do for now.

Best quote for me and hassle free. Thankfully, I've never had to claim but a friend who used them did and said they were fantastic. New for old Nikon D3 and 70-200 f2.8VR without a question. (he dropped both in a river!!).

The last shot I will take in Mexico. My dad and I were waiting for our host to collect us from a trip out and I got bored so decided to do some light trails as it was getting dark.

Try the repair place near me, it used to repair all of Jessops repairs and apparently does a lot of Canon's too.

Thanks for the info folks. I called around to a few places and the estimates were always in the same ball park (~£200), but Fixation seems to have the best turn around time so I'll send it off to them tomorrow.
