First off let me say I really dig my EOS M. It has its faults no doubt, but image quality is not among them. I travel all over the world for weddings, but if Im not working this is the camera I have on me. Below are a few shots.

Canon EOS-M with Canon 100mm f/2.8L MACRO IS USM Lens attached + Lens Hood.
Looks a little over the top with the Lens Hood on... hence I leave it off.
Taken with the Canon PowerShot s95.

All that macro rig needs is an off camera flash.

Ok decided I am going to finally pull the trigger on the EFS adapter... However, I know that there have been a few that have used the MEIKE or FOTODIX (or whatever they are) knockoffs. Other than price is there any other benefits to going with one of these vs the Canon specific? Would like to pull the trigger today if possible, through Amazon (have prime account).

I have the Meike adapter, but only use it with adapted Practika B lenses, so I can't comment on how it works with EF or EF-S lenses. That said it appear to be well made, and fits well. The only significant difference from the Canon adapter is that the tripod mount is not removable on the Meike adapter.

I have the Canon adapter and have used it several times with my 28, 50 & 85 lenses. Because of the added bulk I always removed the tripod adapter when using with these lenses; however, I do believe the adapter would be essential if using a tripod and a larger lens.

I've had absolutely no issues with the Canon adapter which appears to be made extremely well; I also considered a third party but fortunately located a used Canon for not much more than a new third party adapter.

Has anyone tried adapting the nikon 50mm 1.2 on the M? It would make for a featherweight f1.2 setup for portraits, etc.

Well I pulled the trigger on the Fotodiox and will have it on Friday. There were some concerns about the quality consistency but really if it does have the same issues (loose fitting and wobbly) then I will return for either another copy or go with the cheaper Meike.

Anything longer than 85mm is though handheld, but totally possible.

When you start going over 200mm is when a tripod becomes extremely handy.

Luckily the only thing that I have more than 200mm is my 55-250mm which I rarely use. The adapter will probably see my 50mm and 19-35mm more than anything.

I am really liking a lot of the photos here, when I get my computer fixed I'll have to contribute!

As an asides, has anyone bought white box lenses before? There is a great deal at b &h right now and i really want the 22mm. Should be a new lens pulled out of a kit right? Only warranty is different somehow.

White box lenses are OK as are refurbished lenses from Canon. You shouldn't have any issues with a white box from B&H. Definitely a good price.
