I ended up using them as well.

very quick and ended up getting an extra day out of the deal too because they had some extra in stock.
I will definitely use them again.

The best part was it kept me from buying a lens I always lusted after. I'm not sure if it was just the copy I rented but it was pretty soft and not the big jump in quality I had expected for an L lens.

I'd rent it again before I considered a purchase. I rented the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS , and just wasn't as impressed with it as I wanted to be. so for that, it saved me TONS.

I have a question about renting lenses. I've never done it before, and don't plan on it in the near future. But has anyone ever thought of the possibility of renting a lens that has just started developing a fungus from the previous rental? Then using the thing for a week and putting it in your bag with the bodies and other lenses you own? I'm not sure how common this is, but it's one of the reasons I stopped buying used and don't rent.....

Sell it on at a later date.
I usually break even.

I've never used lens rentals, but I've spoken and mailed them a couple times. They were alway quick to answer my questions and were very helpful even without me buying anything.

Lens Rentals is my go-to if I need to rent something... I have bothered Roger more than a few times for issues I may have been having with my own lenses and other technical issues, and that alone justifies my loyalty to them... They really care about customer service, even when it is not directly related to them.

+1

I emailed them about a problem I was having with Canon 70-200 F2.8 IS lens wondering if it was a common problem with the lens. I was floored when Roger himself answered my email.
