10-22 Damaged when camera dropped-Warning graphic lens damage image!

Camera insurance isn't a homeowner policy, it is a personal article policy like you might take out on a wedding set or other expensive jewelry. Mine costs very little, maybe $20/year for every $1,000 in insured value and covers accidental damage, loss, and theft.


Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM

Repair cost not bad!:)

$129 for standard out of warranty repair plus $14 shipping & handling from Canon USA Newport News Repair Center.

Congratulations.

As I said earlier - they intend the lens to be able to break apart in a "cheap" way, both to protect the camera mount and to try to make the lens easy to repair.
