After the foot of new snow, after the glazing of ice on the branches, after the sun came out... this is what it looks like this afternoon from my back yard. Lord, I love living in New England!

Taken with a 7D at ISO 200 at f/8. Three shots were stacked up using Photomatix Pro to create this HDR image, which was further processed in Photoshop CC.

Looks like a postcard shot, nice! A bit too much HDR/too little contrast for my liking, but that can probably be fixed.

Gear List

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thanks for the compliment. As to the contrast, I liked this setting because the soft contrast seems to convey the softness of the new fallen snow. I did try other HDR processing, but this one seemed just right. YMMV, of course.

Fantastic shot Michael. I'm with you on the contrast. Too much on an HDR and it can get out of hand quick. Looks great!
