Much better. And being able to see the full image in one glimpse makes it significantly better somehow too! Nicely captured!

Nice shots Gerd.

Having now used my lens for a few weeks I am finding it difficult. I find I need a slightly different focus adjust value when shooting further away and wide open with the TC in place is not brilliantly sharp. I find my old 500 f4 much better. am I expecting too much for 10k? :o

dandig - good review. I would point out one thing about balance.

You are correct if paired with the 5D3. Beautifully balanced and feels almost weightless.

Much different story with the 1D-X, it becomes camera end heavy. Attach a III extender and the balance is much improved.
