Here is another hummer in her nest. This one didn't survive the summer storms.

That is sweeeeet.

Ive been watching at Luke for the arrival of any F35s... no sightings so far

That's because they aren't allowed to go more than 500 yards from the Tech Reps.

That is too bad she didn't survive. Up until very recently I had never seen a humming bird nest before, lots of common finch, sparrow, grackle nests, but never a humming bird nest, so it is very interesting to me.

yeah…they aren't scheduled to arrive for a while. One of the aviation photographers groups I'm in has a few guys who work at Luke and keep us informed. :)

I am working on a project for a client that builds senior living campuses and yesterday the outing was to go to the flightline at Luke. They all said it was an amazing day and they got some great low fly overs..... Sigh I was in meetings.

If anyone is interested in some night shooting my church, next weekend, is having its yearly festival and some of the rides that get brought in are quite interesting for some night photography

A handful of Google+ people got together yesterday for a photowalk at Bartlett Lake. I got some shots from big to small.

This is my youngest. I've shot this same series for my 3 other kids, and finally got around to finish it for her mom.

I just checked the Yuma airshow (March 15) website and they claim that they will have the F-35 performing. Yuma is a long drive from Phoenix (and one of the days of Luke) if they don't ...

I'm tempted to wait for another show. I have heard so much controversy over the distribution of the aircraft that it wouldn't surprise me in the least if it didn't make an appearance at Yuma. I'll be more upset if I drive all the way to Yuma and it doesn't show than if I don't go and it does. There will be future opportunities.

WILDFLOWERS

Understand it is going to be a weak season due to temp and soil moisture content. I was north of Phoenix at 4000 feet elevation weekend before last and started to see some color.

How is the East Valley looking???

My hope is that it will not all go at once for all elevations but over a few weeks can chase it up the hill to flagstaff.
