Yeah, I went to Oklahoma this week and took my XSI and a few lenses just in case. Well, I went to the memorial, and just left the XSI in the bag.. haha... :)

Beautiful bird pics 2n10, specially the black birds. I think it's always difficult to have a good pic of a black bird, mostly the eyes are not visible. But in your pics they look very good.

Rumours has it that there may be a replacement for this awesome compact. Not much details on it but the term 100X was mentioned. Again no fact just rumours and speculations.

But what got me thinking is the handling of such long range. I only have the SX40 and at times I've had troubles keeping it steady.

Makes me exited thinking how they are going to get around this issues. Also I wonder how often does this site [CR] is ever right?

When you see a CR3 designation you can count on it. We will most likely know in next month or so unless Canon slows their time table down again.

Technique is what you need to practice. You need to cradle the lens near the hood and slow your heart rate down like a competitive shooter. Check out long lens handling techniques they are similar to rifle handling techniques. I can handle the SX50HS at 4X digital zoom (4800mm) and ss of 1/500.

I'm just saying... at 50X it's already a challenge. Imagine doubling that. Maybe they'll introduce an improved way of stabilization. Or could be wishful thinking on my part.;)

That is what I was thinking, even better stabilization.
