Very nice find. The car looks pretty complete too. :)
Looks to be around a 1972 vintage?

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

That's cool. That would be a neat restoration project for anyone who is into that. Drop in a hemi, or even a 383 magnum and associated running gear and it would be a classic muscle car.

A neighbor of my parents years ago made that sort of a find - a nearly complete body and chassis for a 1927 Mercedes Benz touring roadster. He fully restored it - said it was one of only 5 known to exist. He found it in a collapsing barn somewhere in Canada.

I believe there is a very capable 318 in there now......

From wikipedia: At midyear (1970), a Gold Duster trim package was added. The Gold Duster package came with either the 225 Slant Six or the 318 V8 (external link). It also came with special "Gold Duster" badging, gold stripes on the sides and rear, wall-to-wall carpeting, pleated, all-vinyl seats, whitewalls, wheel covers, a deluxe insulation package, and a canopy vinyl roof (external link). The Gold Duster was offered through 1975

This is an abandoned house on Rebecca Road in London, Ontario, Canada. Lost a bit of detail in getting it to fit under the 150K file size limit.

QUOTED IMAGE

I helped a friend build a 440 and put it in one of these once. It looked just about like this one when the motor went in. It was way too fast for the capabilities of the car.

You can upload to a host site like Flickr and keep a higher resolution image, then just link to it. I upload usually at about 1mb like the one below.

This is the office complex from an abandoned Diamond Crystal sea salt plant here on the island:

One overlooked option here was that year could also be had with the hot little 340, which was the 318's bigger brother. ;)

The 318 was a good engine and had been Chrysler's stock V-8 for a while (my brother's '64 Belvedere had a 318), but it certainly didn't have a muscle car feel to it. I don't know if Chrysler was still making the 383 in the 70's, but that was a great engine. My father's '65 Dodge Polara 2 door HT had the 383 and that baby had some legs (at least it did when I got to drive it). ;)
