The poster didn't mention video quality.
The 70D is a better camera, even if the quality is the same.

Nice shots Jd and Chad. Love the window shot, another wonderful film like creation :-)

A couple from my walk yesterday in London. I was trying out a CPL that I brought a few years ago and haven't managed to find a use for it until now (just the second shot)

The CPL seemed to really bring out those blues in the second one.

Yeah, finally I've found a use for it lol.
Actually I'm glad I have it as I'm hoping to shoot some cars this summer, I know the 35mm and CPL will work very well together.

Nice! I haven't yet bought this lens, but this is really encouraging - I love the rendering of the micro contrast here. After renting one a while back, I still occasionally pine for the Zeiss 35/2 because of the way it rendered, but this looks like it could be comparable... and with AF and hundreds cheaper...

Thanks.
As an owner of the fantastic 24-70 f/2.8 MKII I feel this little lens produces images that are more than comparable, and have the same "pop" and 3D look to them.
For the money it should produce great images, but it's the only lens I have that makes me smile when I see my shots in LightRoom. That's not to say the 24-70 images aren't as good, but for that price it should be taken for granted that the images are outstanding.
Being able to hand hold at1/4 sec is not to be sniffed at either.

I took this tonight. My son was on his PC. The only light was coming from the monitor.
The 35mm focused without hunting or miss focusing (on the eye). The 5DMKIII played a part of course :-)

It's a great lens and I definitely feel it's worth the $600 price point. I'm sure you can find it for a bit cheaper too

I got it new (Australian stock i.e. with warranty) for the equiv of about US$560. The cheapest I could see the sigma was around US$650.

The size is what I really love about it. It goes nicely with the 85 F/1.8 as a pair of small fast primes.

Hi, where did you get Oz stock for $560, if you don't mind me asking? Cheapest I have seen is about $650.

Cheers, Damien
