Am i right to assume that this photo was taken with an octabox on camera right?

No. The light was off-camera, just to the right of the camera position by 40-50 degrees or so. Look at the shadows. On-camera light would be very flat with even lighting on both sides of the face.

hahaha jcoleman, "on camera right" not "on camera, right?" Meaning the light is on the right of the camera. :lol:
