-=1D Mk II and Mk IIn Owners Unite! (Round 2)

I will be joining you all soon! I went ahead and bought a 1DMKIIN to use for mainly sports. I was hoping to get a MKIII, but didn't have enough money saved up for it … yet. For now, I'm sure I will be happy with the MKIIN. Have any of you used this camera for portrait photography as well?

I don't have expensive lenses - I use the canon 50mm 1.8 but if I need wider, all I have is an old clunky Tamron 28-80...but it does well. Using the different focus points is handy when shooting growdups, but not so good for the kids...but the back button focus and the many focus points around the centre works good for moving childerbeasts!

Beautiful images! Thank you for the examples. I've been using my 5Dc for portraits. Can't wait to try the MKIIN. Mine will be here today.

Nothing special - I'm just re-discovering my 1D Mark IIn

My 1DMKIIN arrived yesterday! There's so much to learn. I'm a bit overwhelmed. Do any of you shoot track & field? Any tips for somebody new to the 1D series like me? Settings recommendations would be extremely helpful. Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thanks!

I believe so because the II and II N's difference are only on the LCD screen size.

Last week I did a photo shoot of my kids. Just for testing sakes I used my 1dmkii so I can get a feel of the lighting before I had all the kids get dressed up and ready. So I did few shots of my oldest daughter before I got my 5D2 out. Turns out I ended up printing the shots of my daughter from the 1D instead of the 5D2. The differences were so negligible using the same glass (24-105) and lighting that I could barely tell the difference. The only thing that gave away the 5D shots were they were a bit more crisp. Other then that the old tank did just fine. Amazing how an old "archaic" body still does so well.

I tested mine recently against a Nikon D300, which I bought to stick a toe in the Nikon DSLR world. It was really impressive to see how one camera (whose production ended in 2007) really held its' own against the other which started to be made in the same year.

I am thinking abouth the nikon D300 or D300s.
For the same reason, check a nikon out...
But i dont trust them, for what second hand is available here in holland.
The shutter counts are all very low??????????
To low, 10 or 20.00 for a 5 to 10year old camera.
When i ask how it come, they all say its there backup camera???
