Meh, not sure why we're celebrating the actions of a childish post. Act like an adult and ignore children and their childish attitudes.

I live in very tourist place. Last year I took picture that people loved, almost million people reached on FB, some crazy numbers on shares and likes.

Real Estate company called me and asked for picture to use on the cover of their magazine that will be printed in some crazy number copies and distributed all over USA... They offered quarter page advertising in exchange :) and promised me to tell every single person they know that I'm super cool and best photographer in the universe. I said nicely to the lady that photography is what I do for living and I'll be more than happy to sell this picture but of course for the right price and we are not talking about $100 because they are multimillion company, and I have a reason to believe that the magazine is not for entertainment but it is for advertisement and to show our area.

Then I made her an offer and I said and I said: Listen but we can make this work ! You guys will sell house to me with 50% discount and I promise to tell all my friends, and all my clients to buy houses from you because there is no better company in the world ! Lade was little shocked and said: This is not funny... 2 weeks later they called for picture again with proper offer... unfortunately competition purchased pictures for double price to make sure that no other will be able to use it :)

To all of you guys remember take a $1 but do not give your work for free ! If you picture is good enough to bring some attention it means it good enough to make money ! Big, Small doesn't matter, do not give your pictures for free !!!! Blue Skies !

This has been around a while. Nothing new here. Yes, you can all chuckle, but it only adds to the pretentious image of "Pro Photographer". What "pro" is trolling for business in the dirty ally of CL anyway?

Aren't you taking this thread a bit too seriously?

Who's celebrating? It's just a laugh. I didn't respond to the post on Craigslist... just re-posted on a photography forum. If that's childish, you could have simply ignored this thread, too.

They may be desperate for work. Maybe the majority of work is going to families and friends and "uncle Bob's".

Never be so prideful you consider yourself "above" advertising on Craigs List, granted it doesn't give you the best image but if you have a family to support and next to nothing coming in, you do what you got to do. Pride will bankrupt you.
