Oh got damnit! I dropped my 24-70.

I'm not 100% sure on that lens, but if you peel back the rubber grip of the focus ring, it should expose 3-4 screws (covered with clear tape), that would/should/may allow you to adjust it back into place. Going from the back end won't get you very far.


If steroids are illegal for athletes, should PS be illegal for models?
Digital - 50D, 20D IR Conv, 9 Lenses from 8mm to 300mm
Analog - Mamiya RB67 Pro-SD, Canon A-1, Nikon F4S, YashicaMat 124G, Rollei 35S, QL17 GIII, Zeiss Ikon Ikoflex 1st Version, and and entire room full of lenses and other stuff

Almost exactly what happened to mine after my son pulled it off the table on my 5D2. Canon repair was $675. AmFam paid for the whole repair!

I would think if you can loosen or move it with the screws loose or out, reposition it, then tighten it back up.

If you meant the grip, you can usually slide it out of the way without removing it. You may need something (toothpick) to pry it so you can get it started.
