Thanks! The 5D3 is "it" for me, but I'm probably leaning to the 6D for now. I think I'll grab the 6D, then maybe get an MPE-65 or a 10-22 right before summer.

The 6D is what I'm aiming at right now, too. To paraphrase what I've heard/read: The 6D does 95% of what the 5D Mark III can do, at nearly half the cost.

Thanks, guys! I decided to go with the 6D as well. I'd love to give the 61 point AF a go, but for the $1,400 difference it's just not worth it to me. A second card slot almost swayed me, too...but having WiFi is going to be nice. Tough decision, but the difference in money is a nice lens that can be added to the collection.

...and I have the 10-22mm and believe it is fantastic. It does have a couple drawbacks (i.e. EF-S, distortion - particularly at 10mm and shooting vertically), but overall, a great purchase.

I'll have to sell it before I upgrade to the 6D, as I know I can't trust myself not to go below 14mm if/when attached to a full-frame

You'll be surprised how easy it is not to go wider than 14mm ;) most of the time 14mm is too wide so I stick to 16-20mm.

Looks like you came to the same conclusion that I did Ace. I was looking at a 5DII and 6D. I am actually just waiting for a Canon sale on Refurbs and I will be getting a refurb 6D. For the $1519 that it is now, I am so tempted to just do it. I wish they took old Canon film bodies for the CLP program. I have an old 630 film body that I have just sitting in a box. Hopefully they don't sell out before I get one with the sale. I hope they have one soon as I am really itching to get into the new FF side of the house.

Check KEH frequently. In just the past two weeks I've seen numerous 5Dmk3's 5Dmk2's, a 6D and even a 6Da (the astro version of the 6D). They currently have a 5Dmk2 for $1600 for EX+ and $1480 for EX condition.

I often forget how awesome the 40mm pancake is for a general walkabout/general purpose lens. Probably my best B&W.

Great choice, guys! Unless you need the fantastic AF system of the 5D3, the 6D is excellent!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
