You're lighting never ceases to amaze me! Every time I see your photos I start thinking I should just stick to HSS capable speedlites and abandon the thought of aquiring some Alien Bees.

A lot depends on when/where you want to shoot. If just want to do light fill in good ambient the speedlites are a great tool. But if you want to use the lights as a primary source then there big benefits to the alien bees.

if you want portability, just bring a naked flash in a stand and find a good nice ambient light location.

As stated above, it really depends on your needs and the way your photography is, your locations etc. I seldom have an assistant with me, so portability as Vince said, is very important. I shoot in the afternoon at locations with shades available, so fill flash is all that I need. But as gonzogolf said you need more than speedlites for a primary source of light :)

Sometimes you don't need light at all, just nice sunset and huge letters lol

Just to be clear, I wasn't in any way dismissing the quality of Daniel's use of lights. Just commenting on how the way you shoot dictates the gear you need. Just like you all, I am amazed at the images Daniel creates, with or without lighting.
