I've been looking at this lens today, but also would be interested to know from thoughts who have bought the lens, did you look at the Sigma equivalent 70-200 f2.8 as well, what made you buy the Tamron over the Sigma?

If you search for the user "Talley" you can find some very helpful reviews of this lens.

I considered the sigma. The reviews were meh.

The Tamron is closer to the Mk II in terms of picture quality IMHO.
