I would just get a cheap screw in hood made for it's thread size, something like this

http://www.amazon.com …fRID=1CN4SP0N0H75NRT5MJ7M (external link)

Not only will it protect the front element, but it'll add contrast and reduce flare in your images. Plus, the main reason I use hoods on all my lenses, it'll keep your fingers off the lens if you're manually focusing

+1
That's the one I went with and it's great for the money. I took it a step further and put a good quality UV filter on it. I put the original lens cap back in the box since it looked like something I'd lose in about two seconds. With this setup everything is safe and I'm always ready to shoot.

Wow. Congrats. I am waiting to be convinced by the XT1, but I have the 35mm and 14mm (as well as the 23mm) on my XPro1, and they are staggeringly good lenses in their own right. These lenses alone are enough of a reason to own an X body, no matter what it is and what one thinks of Fuji. The photozone tests on the lenses showed some amazing results and I can only confirm it all with my findings. I still really value the OVF, so not sure yet if the XT1 is for me, but it sure does look like an impressive camera.

Yup, just got my 35mm and I'm very impressed with it. I love the colors from it :)

Also, I'm jealous of your kit! I don't think I'm quite ready to part with my 6D, but I do love that X-T1.

I've been meaning to ask you, how do you like your X-E1 so far? How does it compare to the 6D in terms of IQ?
