Hey guys and girls. New to the site. Was recommended to join to search for a new camera body and lenses to buy. Glad I was as some great stuff on this forum, great reads, great shots, and seems like great people. Here are a couple pans I can grab without loitering too long from doing work at work lol.

Some panning shots I took at the MMP Marshal's Reward Day, at Kirkistown race circuit, last year....except for the 1st one. It was taken at St Angelos airfield.

After a first try without knowing a thing about panning, i went to a local track that is hosting some A to B time trials on snow/ice. I learned alot from that experience.
Even if i think i still have alot of practice to do, im pretty satisfied with this shot that ended up being the best of my day.

Manual - 1/60s - f25 - 100iso - 300mm - No crop

IMAGE: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7408/12917711124_77ce561535_c.jpg

Here are some observations i got from that day. (to any one who cares)

-Getting slow SS whith snow in plain mid day sunshine is a pain. At some point I had to go to f32 and it still was blinking. Should i consider a polariser or ND filter in this situation?

-White and gray backgrounds makes boring panning shots. I need to drag colors and/or contrast to make it interresting.

-Center of frame appears sharper than both sides of it. Even if the car appears to be parrallel to my frame, it isnt since the frame is rotating on an axis that is myself. So i guess that at a slow SS im pushing or pulling the extremities of the frame in and out of the car's trajectory. I guess it is either a compromise or fine tuning.

Going back next w/e. I hope i could share more!

C/C would be appreciated.

Look into an ND filter for sure.
