I have the 35 L and 135 L plus the 50 1.4.
I'm thinking buying:
1) a used 50 1.2
2) a used 85 f1.2
3) a new Sigma 85 1.4
I shoot people mainly, as a hobby.
What are your thoughts?

I find 35 and 50 give such different looks. To me 135 and 85 seem much more closer in terms of perspective and look Sony A7RII | Sony A7S

Nathan Can you repeat the question, please? More info | Mar 05, 2014 20:37 | #11 cristphoto wrote in post #16736547 As others have stated, go for the 85L. Be sure to get a MKII however. I have another thread asking about the original versus MkII. Why MkII? Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

Chadookydo Junior Member 29 posts Joined Feb 2013 More info | I would suggest the Canon 85 f1.8. I got this instead of the f1.2 because the f1.2 has such a shallow DOF(eye in focus and ears out) you find you stop it down anyway. Plus the AF is slow an hunts a lot. The f1.8 IQ is outstanding. I find myself using it a lot on the street. And the price won't break the bank either. As others have said, 85mm would compliment you other primes. I've owned the 50L in the past and might pick it up again despite the fact that i love my 35L. I agree that the 35 and 50 focal lengths are different enough. Still, the 85L is just... Amazing. 5D Mark III / 35L / 24-105L / 600ex-rt
