Well I have finally found the sweet spot for my lens at f/2.8. I had previously thought mine was a bit soft at 2.8 and sharp from 4 onwards but I went out last night to do a bit of night photography and managed to work out where I need to set my focus to on my focus scale to achieve tack sharp images at f/2.8. This has brought my love of this lens to new levels!

Photos to follow tonight. Only got a few hours sleep before having to get up for work so not had any time to process yet.

I love both shots! The shot on the bridge looks like it might have been pretty scary to get! :)

Great job controlling the distortion on those!

Both are very nice shots. Remarkably sharp. Is that the Brooklyn Bridge?

Thanks. And no, not scary at all. The Brooklyn Bridge has that promenade where you can walk above the cars. :)

Yes, getting rid of distortion is a must since it's pretty bad when uncontrolled, even more when shooting buildings and architecture.

Thank you, and yes, that's the Brooklyn Bridge

It looks like you were hanging out way past the promenade. ;)

Hehe I was right in the corner, at the very edge. :)

I'll have to try that shot, next time I'm down that way. I might just make a trip to B&H, to look at some tripods, a stop at Barclay Rex for some pipe tobacco, and a visit to my brother. I don't get there often, so I make a to-do list.

Awesome. That whole area is just a treasure trove of shots waiting to happen. I've been there twice and will go back soon.
