Wow I do like the images but your attitude sucks. People are just trying to understand your rationale but you just get defensive because people don't "understand" your art. You don't give anything with the original post, no frame of reference, no perspective, as one person said "no story".

At last, you've put them in some type of context. Thank you. The photographic style of the 3 images on the Nordstrom link have a different vibe than the other items pictured. If that differentiation is meant to define this particular item, then I say you nailed it. I managed to access your website. Some good stuff there. I have a daughter in the fashion design/photography world so yes, I get it. Picasso could do the straight up thing too. It would be nice to see all 16 in the look book to get the total vibe of the line. I only saw 4 on your website, but I guess I see where you were headed with the look. I'm not in the demo, but if the client was pleased enough to publish then you did your job. Congrats.

@flowrider ... Yes, thank you. Because of the demographics of this forum, when we see photos like this posted, of course we assume it's someone not understanding the basics, rather than someone breaking design rules on purpose, so a little explanation saves us all from playing games.

I'm still confused as to whether or not the OP took these photos or simply posted them here for a game he/she had fun playing?

Not crazy about the first one... tree growing out of her head... then I saw the hand holding the tree, which make it a bit more awkward.

Thanks all for the responses. I chose those images specifically because they're not typical. They blatantly dont follow the "rules", but with a high end model and specific styling theme. A mix of right and "wrong". It could be a confusing image for some and I was curious to see what the response would be to a generally non-fashion crowd. I'm not at all offended or surprised by the responses as I expected a negative response.

Two of the images in the link look like typical (catalog shots). The last two are very poorly executed and appear to be shot by someone who was careless. The color of the wardrobe is off, there are problems with the set. And they look like they were lit by someone else entirely.

Look again at the first two in that link and then the last two. Something seems wrong with it.
