When you use MarScaper to merge to HDR, do you import Raw files or do you pre-process first in something like LightRoom?
When I use photomatix I pre-process in LR then import to do the hdr. I find that the lens corrections in LR are very valuable before I merge my images.
Just wondering what you do.
I have tried both with success in terms of the final merge. That being said, you obviously have much more control over your source images by treating the raw files (for WB, lens corrections, etc.). Also, I have noticed that if you feed MarScaper raw files, the output image is in AdobeRGB. If you feed it RGB files with a particular color space tag, that tag is preserved. Also, converting your raws to TIFF prior to MarScaper will permit you to resize them - this way you can work on a smaller set of images and the whole process is even faster than importing full sized raws.
Just remember that you do not want to make exposure or other similar tonal corrections to your files. I have a preset that is called "Zeroed-WB As Shot" - it zeroes all sliders and sets the WB to As Shot. Then I will select the mid tone file in the sequence, make the WB adjustment and apply a lens correction and sync all of the files. I do not apply Sharpening or NR, other than chroma NR of about 15 (in ACR).
Do not use AUTO WB, as this will produce (potentially very) different results across the image set.
