Loving this lens. And I just found on that DxoLab marked this lens higher than the 85L, lol, though it's different in real life situation but it still made me proud a little bit.

I have said for a while now, Canon better watch their back because Sigma is eating their lunch on some of these new lenses. And they are doing it at very much better prices. Sometime close to half as much.

The only thing Sigma is lacking on is durability. They are still not in the same class and a Canon “L”.
Sigma's warranty and service is also improving.:)

Just be glad you are a Canon user because what do you think the poor Brand N guys are thinking? Their lenses are really being shown up. Plus Brand N's price point. :(
One just needs to compare the Nikkor 50mm to the Sigma 50mm! Nuf, said.

And the focus is magnitudes faster than the 85L. Took this in near darkness. ISO 12,800, F 1.8 1/160

I think Sigma really stepped up their game. But Canon did watched their back. They never did sell to Sigma their focus system, so Sigma had to reverse-egineer, causing focus issue. But after I bought the Sigma 35A as well, and I have ask many other people who also have the 35A, there was only one of them said his lens has back focus issue, but after he bought the USB dock, it's tack sharp. And with the 50 ART that Sigma aim to compete with Leica and Notus, I think they have something in their sleeves, waiting to amaze.

Btw, I once heard a rumors about the Sigma 135 f1.8 ART, when that come out, Canon better have new plan for their 135 :D

Moin, thanks a lot:):)

I mostly shoot with primes, wide open or close to it. In light room I usually up contrast and sharpen and maybe reframe/straighten, etc.. Then I use Silverefex pro II for the black and white conversion. For non-portraits I usually start with preset 5, and then do a lot of tweaking.

very nice colors
whats light do you use for these two photos
Thanks

Thanks and sorry for taking so long to come back.

They were both taken with 430ex 2 flash with a stofen with the end cut out, so mostly bounced off the ceiling. The stofen is just giving the key lights in the eyes really, not throwing much light itself.
