Finally had some time to hunt for the perfect background for this Seattle Band. I knew it was going to be at night and downtown but that was all I knew. There's nothing quite like Pioneer square at night on a weekend. Suffice it to say, I only had one earpiece in while listening to music and searching for our background. Each person was lit with a boomed beauty dish overhead with an Einstein 640. Rim lights provided by gridded striplights on either side and slightly behind with alienbees b800's. Fill was accomplished with a large octabox just behind me with an Interfit EXD400. Adjustments to shadows made in Lightroom and composite put together with 28 different layers in Photoshop. Members photographed in West Seattle Studio.

Yes a LOT of learning to be had here. Thanks for sharing not just the fabulous work but some of the how to's....not that I will ever shoot anything like that but I can sure admire a master at it.

Thank you for your kind words! I love teaching as much as I love learning. They only way I'm able to do what I can is because of the people who came before me and were kind enough to share their efforts! I wish more artists would share how they did what they did without fear. We are a dwindling community that would do so much better if we stood together and helped each other along the way!
